Chemical peels are a powerful way to refresh and rejuvenate your skin by exfoliating the top layers to reveal a brighter, smoother complexion. At Mōv Aesthetics, we offer two advanced, medical grade options—VI Peel and BioRePeel—each designed to target concerns like acne, hyperpigmentation, fine lines, and uneven texture. Whether you’re looking for a deeper peel with dramatic results or a no-downtime option with a gentle touch, our team will help you choose the right treatment for your skin goals.
A Vitality Institute (VI) Peel is a mid-depth chemical peel that reaches beneath the top layer of skin. A VI Peel exfoliates your skin while promoting the synthesis of new proteins. The method is frequently applied to reverse the appearance of aging, enhance skin texture, address pigmentary problems, and reduce oiliness or acne.
This peel works to resurface moderate acne scars, UV damage, and aging symptoms by penetrating the skin’s dermis. This treatment penetrates much deeper than basic peels and facials, making it one of the most potent alternatives available.
A VI Peel addresses fine lines, wrinkles, acne, and oily skin while stimulating collagen production. While the VI Peel is generally thought to be safe for many skin types, it should not be used if you have autoimmune skin conditions, impaired wound healing, diabetic skin problems, eczema, or psoriasis.
The VI Peel dissolves your top layer of skin using a combination of chemicals, making the underlying healthy skin visible. The process is typically pain-free and takes about 30 minutes. We will cleanse your skin and then apply the peel in multiple layers.
The first layer may cause some numbness or tingling on your skin. The subsequent layers of the peel should be painless, but your provider will ensure you are comfortable throughout the process. Your skin will begin to peel within 72 hours of treatment and finish peeling within a week or so. The heaviest peel days are days three to five. You will also go home with individualized peel instructions on the VI peel app and post-peel products to use within the following week.
Avoid direct sunlight, makeup, and scented washes until the skin has fully healed. Use all the aftercare products supplied to you and follow the instructions on the VI Peel app. Allow up to seven days to make a full recovery.
Use sunscreen and recommended skin care products between peels. For best results, return every 4-6 weeks for additional treatments, usually in a series of three to four peels. Seasonal maintenance is recommended after that.
VI Peels start at $300.

BioRePeel is a luxurious 35% TCA skin peel designed in Italy to rejuvenate and revitalize the skin. This formulation harnesses the power of natural enzymes to break down dead skin cells and impurities gently. In addition, a combination of gentle acids, including tartaric and salicylic acid, helps to further refine the skin’s texture. These acids contribute to the removal of excess oil, unclog pores, and encourage a more even skin tone. The inclusion of squalane oil fights free radicals on the skin, and isopropyl myristate fills tiny cracks in the skin to prevent loss of moisture. BioRePeel also incorporates essential vitamins, including vitamin C and vitamin A, that have skin-renewing properties and can help support collagen production.
With minimal downtime and no extreme peeling, the BioRePeel is an excellent skin transformation choice for those with busy schedules. You can restore your confidence and see smooth, radiant skin with quite possibly the only med spa for BioRePeel Boulder has to offer. Some of the many benefits include:
Since this peel uses a gentle, versatile formula, safe for any skin type, nearly anyone who wants to improve the appearance, feel, and health of their skin is a great candidate. It can also be done year-round, and is a great option for those with an active lifestyle or social commitments.
Our ultimate goal is personalization, so during our consultation, we will examine your skin, discuss your aesthetic goals in detail, and craft a tailored treatment plan. To prepare for this treatment, you will need to avoid hair removal, such as waxing for two weeks, retinols for one week, and exfoliation for about 48 hours.
At your Boulder BioRePeel appointment, your skin will be prepared, and then the peel solution will be applied and left on for about five minutes. Most sessions only take about 30 minutes.
After your treatment, you will likely see improvements over about two weeks, and you may experience some mild redness for a day or two afterward. We recommend four to six initial sessions spread two to four weeks apart.
BioRePeels start at $250.

While both VI Peel and BioRePeel are powerful chemical peels that target concerns like acne, pigmentation, and aging, they work in slightly different ways. VI Peel penetrates more deeply to stimulate collagen and exfoliate the skin over several days, typically resulting in noticeable peeling. In contrast, BioRePeel offers a no-peel experience with little to no downtime—it uses biphasic technology to exfoliate and hydrate at the same time, making it ideal for sensitive skin or those needing a quick refresh.
VI Peels are typically pain-free.
Different BioRePeel patients report varied levels of minor to mild discomfort, such as a stinging or burning sensation, but the BioRePeel is typically not considered painful.
Vi Peel risks will vary based on the individual and various peel ingredients. Some risks may include swelling, redness, a burning sensation or blistering, scarring, or hyperpigmentation. We will discuss your individual needs at your consultation and do our best to avert these risks during your treatment.
BioRePeel is very safe for all skin types. Some minor side effects could include redness or swelling that resolve on their own. Slight flaking of the skin can occur as the old skin cells come off.
A rare risk of the VI Peel is possible scarring and hyperpigmentation.
VI Peels are not recommended when you are expecting or nursing. As a safe alternative, we offer our Mōv Pregnancy-Safe HydraFacial to keep your skin healthy and glowing during this special time.
Because VI Peels are seen as an aesthetic procedure, insurance usually does not cover it.
Although both chemical peels and microdermabrasion procedures are regarded as exfoliation methods, microdermabrasion uses physical exfoliation, whereas chemical peels use a chemical process to remove old skin cells.
Laser treatments, microdermabrasion, and VI Peels all produce similar results with varying degrees of pain and recovery times.
With a strategic initial treatment plan that includes three to six peels, the results can last up to one year or more.
Most patients continue to see gradual improvement over the course of about two weeks.
It’s best to wait at least one day after your peel before applying makeup, but gentle moisturizers and sunscreen can be used immediately after. Products that contain retinol or other more potent treatments should wait about one to two weeks.
Our aesthetic specialists are passionate about seeing patients love their results and watching them discover new and improved confidence. We want to ensure that each treatment is custom-tailored for each client’s specific aesthetic goals, comfort level, and unique needs.
